UK - Black Information Link
In the early 1990s, when the Trust was still in its infancy, the Trustees came up with the idea of an information exchange for Asian, African and Caribbean community groups and organisations around the country. This would to take the form of an electronic bulletin board, carrying information that could be accessed and updated by a network of computers around the country - the state of the art communications technology of the time. The project was to be called BLINK – Black Information Link. For an organisation with little or no IT infrastructure or expertise, it was a revolutionary project to undertake.
