Described as one of the best newly created gardens in recent times situated in a commanding position with spectacular views over Luce Bay and The Mull Of Galloway. The focal point of the garden centres around two small lakes where there is a collection of wild fowl to be discovered. Peacocks, red squirrels, and many birds live in the garden.
Hard to believe that this beautiful 12 acre ornamental garden was only begun in 1980, hewn from a bare hillside covered in bracken and gorse.
The warming effects of the Gulf Stream allows exotic plants to thrive, with large collections of interesting trees and shrubs from around the southern hemisphere. Some of the exotics include embothrium from Chili, eucalypts, rhododendrons and hydrangeas which flourish amongst this maze of hilly plantings.
A peaceful haven with seats and winding paths for all to enjoy.
