Barrow's flagship attraction, The Dock Museum, is housed in a stunning Victorian dry dock and traces the history of Barrow's growth from a tiny nineteenth century hamlet to a major industrial town. The displays look at the maritime, industrial and social history of the town, with multi-media interactives for all the family to enjoy.

Strollers Coffee Shop provides a relaxing and popular venue for morning coffee, a light lunch and afternoon tea .
Explore the Museum's local area with a new series of walk leaflets. Each one focuses on the built and natural heritage of the area and also detail those sections of the route accessible for someone in a wheelchair.

Location
On the edge of the English Lake District, Barrow in Furness enjoys a coastal setting, with access from the M6 motorway, leaving at junction 36 to follow the A590.
Enter Barrow from any direction and follow the brown and white Dock Museum signs.
By rail, finger posting takes you from Barrow station to the Museum via Abbey Road.
From Hindpool Road turn left after Tesco into North Road, or from Walney Road turn right at Pizza Hut into North Road
The Museum is a few hundred yards on your right.
Disabled Parking is available at the second entrance on the right
