Villa Maria Assunta in Cielo is a lodging owned by A.I.A.S. Pistoia Onlus (Italian Association for Spastic Care).
It is a no-profit association established in 1963, with the intent to handle sanitary care activities targeted to encourage the full development, also for the spiritual, cultural and social dimension , of the personality for those who find themselves in a situation of mental of physical disability.
It was totally renewed three years ago and now, outside of the Summer months (from June till the 15th September), it is used for the hospitality of individuals and groups.
His strong point is his complete accessibility, as it was conceived and created just to accommodate people with disabilities.
Villa Maria Assunta in Cielo is composed of two buildings: the main building, with 25 accessible rooms and the annex with 14 for wheelchair non-completely accessible rooms.
The 25 rooms in the main building are all equipped with phone, TV, almost all with balcony and, particularly, with accessible bathrooms
The lodging has a spacious and well cared garden, private parking, a large and bright dining room, a TV room, two meeting rooms, a chapel and a private beach.
Villa Maria Assunta in Cielo was tested as well as by the clients with different disabilities of our Association, that turns here every two weeks during the summer, also by the clients from all over the world.
In fact, we had the honour to hospitate, on the occasion of the 5th IPC World Archery Championship that took place in Massa in 2005, the following teams: Byelorussia, Canada, Hong Kong, Israel, Norway, Netherlands, United Kingdom, Sweden and U.S.A. Besides, we have given hospitality for two consecutive years, in 2005 and 2006, to the participants of the Italian Archery Championship and other sport competitions.
Since 2005 we have among our clients an increasing number of individual and groups coming from Italy, Germany, Austria and Switzerland, that choose our hotel and city for their holiday. I keep to make precise that Villa Maria Assunta was expected personally by these travel agencies and associations and after that introduced in their circuit.
We have received from all our guests compliments for the accessibility of our lodging. The remarks of our guests are for us an opportunity to refine it further on and a reason of encouragement to offer our guests the most pleasant stay we could.
As hotel manager I keep on satisfy as far as possible the requests of our clients. Here you will find maximum helpfulness and politeness, together with an high expertise. As I have worked for years in the tourism, with experience in travel agencies and tourist information office, I stay at disposal of the group to help them in the organisation of their accessible excursions.
Just to give you some inputs, as well as visiting the art cities like Florence, Pisa, Lucca, Siena, and so on, we achieve an high satisfaction with alternative excursions like the boat trip to Portovenere or to the Lake of Massaciuccoli, the excursion to the marble quarries and to some accessible paths of our mountains or the tasting of local wines and foods.
