Project Hammamet is a temporary name given to a venture being undertaken by four professional men (two English and two Austrian), who are in the process of acquiring a hotel. The hotel exists at the moment but will be converted to accommodate the disabled wheelchair user. All aspects of the hotel will be considered and changed as necessary to allow the maximum independence possible to the guests. The hotel has140 rooms, swimming pool in a beautiful area and is a four star venue and will remain so.

Nightly entertainment will be provided. We intend to make the venue all-inclusive. This is a new project and communications are a little difficult at the moment but we are working to improve the situation.

Our access to the Internet is spasmodic but hopefully we be permanently on line by December. We hope to be able to open the hotel in June 2001, however, to receive letters of interest, and to be able to present these to the Ministry and other interested parties will assist us greatly in acquiring permissions and organizing ground and air transport.

Obviously we have to consider the special needs at airports, especially embarking and disembarking. Also specialized transport from Monastir airport to Hammamet, a journey of approximately 1hour and 15 minutes.

Any comments or suggestions will be gratefully accepted, also any special requirements that we should consider. We intend to have "a small army" of cheerful and smiling helpers, speaking many languages, who will be willing to assist with virtually any request.

As far as our team is concerned, two of us are pilots and two are from the hotel industry, we all have many years experience in our respective vocations.
