Travel by car is not advised as there is little on street parking and the nearby NCP car park is often full.
All groups are led by a specially qualified Blue Badge Guide. Visitors start by following the processional route taken by Her Majesty the Queen when she performs the State Opening of Parliament. The tour passes through the Sovereign's Entrance and proceeds to the Queen's Robing Room before entering the spectacular Royal Gallery, hung with portraits of monarchs past and present. Next on to the Prince's Chamber, richly decorated with scenes from the reigns of the Tudors, before entering the red and gold elegance of the Chamber of the House of Lords with its Royal Throne. Leaving the House of Lords via the famous Central Lobby the tour passes into the Members' Lobby and then on e of the Division Lobbies where MPs register their Ayes or Noes, before reaching one of the most recognisable interiors in the world: the
Chamber of the House of Commons.
The tour is not yet over; afer leaving the Chamber you will again pass through Central Lobby and into St Steyhen's Hall. This is the site of the original chamber and if you look closely you can still see the brass studs on the floor showing the location of the Speakers Chair at that time. Unfortunately in 2006 Westminister Hall is unavailable due to extensive refurbishment works. The Houses of Parliament are ideally situated within easy reach of many major attractions - Westminister Abbey, the BAQ London Eye, Saatchi Gallery, London Acquarium, Cabinet War Rooms, Jewel Tower, Downing Street and Buckingham Palace. Tours are times and last 75 minutes so it is easy to plan your itinerary around them; you could combine a flight on the London Eye or a River Trip with your tour, or book a morning slot and finish in time to see the Changing of the Guard. How To Buy Tickets The Palace of Westminster is a working building. It may be necessary to change or cancel ours without notice due to parliamentary business or renovation. What will it Cost?
