The Carfax has just 35 individually heated and furnished rooms, all of which are en suite with either a bath or shower, or more often both. All the rooms are fully central heated, and equipped with remote colour televisions receiving Sky channels, radios, hair dryers, tea/coffee making facilities and direct dial telephones with modem ports. It is situated minutes from most of Bath's major attractions, including Bath Abbey, Pulteney Bridge, The Roman Baths and The Royal Crescent. The Train and Bus Stations are a 10 minute Taxi ride away.

Breakfast, Evening meal, and traditional Sunday lunch are served by friendly staff in the Dining Room which offers a table d'hôte menu to guests and non-residents. As the hotel is owned by a temperance organization it is unlicensed and is one of the few completely non-smoking hotels in Bath, creating a pleasant atmosphere conducive to relaxation.
