Argyll - Cruachan Power Station
Cruachan Visitor Centre is disabled friendly, the centre is on one level
Notes: At present the tour into the mountain is unsuitable for disabled visitors but that is in the process of being rectified
As you can imagine a power station inside
the mountain Ben Cruachan is difficult to make disabled friendly but new coaches and lifts are being introduced to make this possible for 2005.
Cruachan Power Station was the first high head reversible pump storage station to be built in the world. It is operated by Scottishpower. The station is situated on the North bank of Lochawe, 19 miles east of Oban on the A85.
