    Notes: At present the tour into the mountain is unsuitable for disabled visitors but that is in the process of being rectified

    As you can imagine a power station inside
    the mountain Ben Cruachan is difficult to make disabled friendly but new coaches and lifts are being introduced to make this possible for 2005.



    Cruachan Power Station was the first high head reversible pump storage station to be built in the world. It is operated by Scottishpower. The station is situated on the North bank of Lochawe, 19 miles east of Oban on the A85.
