As you can imagine a power station inside
the mountain Ben Cruachan is difficult to make disabled friendly but new coaches and lifts are being introduced to make this possible .

Cruachan Power Station was the first high head reversible pump storage station to be built in the world. It is operated by Scottishpower. The station is situated on the North bank of Lochawe, 19 miles east of Oban on the A85.

The power station was built deep inside the mountain "Ben Cruachan"

At the visitor centre you will take an unforgettable coach journey deep into the mountain down to sea level, there you will feel you are in a different world, a place so warm that sub tropical plants grow.
